Bankruptcy Paralegal

Radix Law is hiring for a part-time, contract Bankruptcy Paralegal to provide support to one Partner and their clients through the bankruptcy process. 

 

The Bankruptcy Paralegal should be experienced and well-versed in all aspects of consumer and small business bankruptcy.  Focus must be Debtor representation, but experience on creditor side is desirable as well.  In conjunction with the attorney, Paralegal must be capable of preparation and filing of documents such as bankruptcy petitions in chapters 7, 13 and 11, motions, reorganization plans, and be able to perform accurate means test calculations, income analysis and Chapter 13 plan calculations.  Paralegal must have experience in the Chapter 13 Plan confirmation process.  Must be familiar with Local Rules as well as trustee and judges’ procedures in the District of Arizona.  Paralegal is expected to be detail-oriented with focus on analysis of information provided by client and ability to follow up with clients to ensure complete and accurate disclosures, bankruptcy statements and schedules as required by law.  Paralegal is expected to be proactive and work as a team member with attorney to provide highest level of service to clients with most efficiency.  Proficiency in Best Case required.

Litigation Paralegal

Radix Law is hiring for a Litigation Paralegal to provide support for all aspects of litigation matters including document and database management, organizing materials, and trial preparation.  The Litigation Paralegal may support up to five Partners.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Creates initial templates and drafts of legal documents/pleadings.
  • Organizes and Bates-labels documents.
  • Research case law.
  • Draft legal documents.
  • Handle Discovery.
  • Manage Exhibits.
  • Assists attorneys with preparation for meetings, hearings, and trials.
  • Summarize cases and prepare reports for attorneys.
  • Displays ability to keep case files organized and ensures docket deadlines are strictly adhered to.
  • Facilitates the filing of legal documents in Federal Court, State Court, Justice Court, Administrative Courts, Appellate Courts, and State Agencies.
  • Maintains electronic client files, and paper files when necessary.
  • Respectfully interacts with clients, Courts, and opposing counsel on a regular basis.
  • Delivers quality work product.
  • Assists in review, verification, and editing of work produced by attorneys and staff.
  • Thrives in a collaborative, professional work environment.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Litigation paralegal (Complaint through Trial), with preference given to knowledge in Commercial Transactions and Litigation/Civil Litigation/Bankruptcy/Probate.
  • 4 or 2-Year college degree and/or possess a Paralegal Certificate.
  • Ability to multitask and successfully manage large caseloads.
  • Needs minimal supervision and direction; self-motivated.
  • History of maintaining timely and contemporaneous time entry.
  • Knowledge of Arizona and Federal Rules & Statutes. 
  • Investigative mind and strong research skills.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Meticulous with strong attention to detail.
  • A professional demeanor in all interactions when representing the firm.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to adapt well to change.
