Jon’s legal practice focuses on providing general counsel, including legal advice on capital formation, mergers and acquisitions, litigation strategy and intellectual property. His work includes handling both domestic and international transactions on behalf of his business clients, ensuring that these matters comply with all relevant federal, state and international laws. Jon brings his talent and expertise, including real-life experience in the business world, to the practice areas of Corporate and Business Law, Corporate Bankruptcy and Commercial Litigation.

Jon is the author of the book Equity Crowdfunding: Transforming Customers into Loyal Owners. His expertise in crowdfunding has resulted in regular media appearances, including in publications such as The Economist, Kiplinger Personal Finance, USA Today and the Washington Post. In the Phoenix area, he has been a frequent commentator on legal issues on television, radio and print media.

Jon founded The Frutkin Law Firm in 2007, which is now Radix Law. He has worked diligently to put together the top legal talent available to serve the firm’s business and individual clients, starting with Partner Carrie Tatkin in early 2009. Jon has grown the firm considerably since its founding 2007, with the ultimate goal of providing quality representation to clients of all sizes. Radix Law offers the services of a larger law firm, with the appeal of a smaller boutique firm. Jon is proud to have built a team of highly-skilled, dedicated attorneys with substantial legal and practical experience. He firmly believes in providing personalized service and top-notch legal representation to each of the firm’s clients.

Before founding the firm in 2007, Jon served as General Counsel for Doceus, Inc., the leading provider of Internet software for associations and non-profits. In this role, he was responsible for the entire spectrum of legal issues that faced the company. While at Doceus, he jointly developed a comprehensive employee training program with the human resources department, negotiated debt and equity financings, created contract templates for client engagements, including guidelines to streamline contract negotiations, and completed the eventual sale of the company. He also served as the Chief Operating Officer of Doceus during a time when the company was recognized as the 18th fastest growing companies in the Mid-Atlantic region by Techway magazine. Jon’s time at Doceus, Inc. gave him a wealth of experience in providing practical legal advice to business clients to help them achieve their goals.

Jon has also served as the Managing Partner of an area development company for a national franchise campaign. In this role, he was responsible for raising capital and negotiating an agreement with the chain. He previously worked as an associate with a law firm in Cleveland, Ohio. This firm was nationally recognized for its work with entrepreneurs, private and public companies before it was merged with a larger firm. While at this practice, Jon was responsible for completing the acquisition of a major regional competitor for his public company client and the completion of a large private placement for an internet start-up client. He was one of the founding members of the firm’s Cyberlaw specialty group.

Jon is a third-generation attorney, following in the footsteps of his grandparents, uncle and father. Jon graduated from American University in 1994 and the University of Virginia School of Law in 1998.
